Frequently Asked Questions
Your Coaching Experience
Q: Why should I work with you?
A: I take a holistic approach to career development because I understand it's deeply personal - it touches not just your professional life, but your sense of purpose, confidence, and overall wellbeing. That's why our coaching relationship begins by creating a safe, confidential space where you can explore all aspects of your career journey. Many of my clients find that what starts as a conversation about career goals naturally opens up to include life transitions, workplace dynamics, and personal growth opportunities.
Understanding these connections, I bring multiple certifications and extensive experience to support your unique path. Whether you're discussing a career pivot, managing workplace stress, or navigating challenging professional relationships, you'll find a supportive environment where you can speak openly and honestly. Everything we discuss remains completely confidential, allowing you to explore your challenges and aspirations without reservation.
Q: Who is your ideal client?
A: Success in coaching comes not from your career stage, but from your readiness to grow and evolve. My ideal client is self-aware, proactive, open to personal growth, and excited to move forward in their career.
I work with professionals across the spectrum - from early-career individuals charting their path to experienced leaders ready for senior and C-Suite roles. Your journey might involve advancing within your organization, making a complete career change, or launching your own business venture. What connects my most successful clients is their commitment to their own development and their willingness to engage deeply in the process.
My experience spans nearly 20 years across multiple industries, including technology, healthcare, finance, marketing, education, and the nonprofit sector. This breadth of experience, combined with particular depth in senior leadership and C-Suite executive coaching, allows me to understand the unique challenges and opportunities you face in your professional journey.
Q: How do you support neurodivergent clients and those managing anxiety?
A: As a trauma-informed coach with both professional expertise and personal understanding of neurodivergence, I bring unique insight to our work together. I deeply understand how neurodivergence, ADHD, CPTSD, anxiety, and related experiences shape your professional journey. While navigating a neurotypical workplace presents its unique challenges, neurodivergent traits often bring valuable strengths - like deep empathy, creative problem-solving, pattern recognition, or intense focus on subjects that matter to you.
My approach adapts to work with your natural patterns and strengths, helping you leverage these unique capabilities while developing strategies for situations that may feel challenging. Together, we'll explore how to navigate professional environments in ways that honor your authentic self while achieving your career goals. Whether it's structuring your work environment to match your sensory needs, developing communication approaches that work for you, or identifying roles and cultures where your unique perspectives are valued, we'll focus on solutions that embrace who you are.
Q: What should I expect during our sessions?
A: Your coaching time is exactly that - yours. I've intentionally created a comfortable, relaxed Zoom/phone environment where you can focus on your development without unnecessary formality. Our Zoom sessions are designed to meet you where you are - feel free to dress casually, have a snack nearby, or position yourself in whatever way helps you think and engage best.
This isn't about maintaining a formal "work mode" - it's about creating the conditions where you can do your best thinking and development work. Whether we're tackling immediate challenges like job search strategy, interview preparation, or exploring broader themes like leadership development and workplace dynamics, we work together to ensure that you are learning, growing, and having fun along the way!
Résumé and Career Strategy
Q: Why don't you offer résumé-only services?
A: A powerful résumé emerges from a deeper understanding of your professional journey than a standalone writing service can provide. Through our coaching conversations, we discover the threads that connect your experiences, revealing patterns of excellence you might not have recognized in yourself. This process transforms your résumé from a simple list of roles into a compelling narrative of your expertise.
What often starts as a request for résumé help frequently reveals broader opportunities for professional growth. For instance, when you recognize that your ability to bridge communication gaps between teams isn't just a skill but a defining strength, or that your talent for identifying process improvements reveals your strategic thinking, it changes not just your résumé but how you see your career possibilities.
Many clients discover they need different versions of their résumé for specific opportunities, and we frame their expertise in ways that resonate with different audiences. Multi-talented people can apply for various roles based on their expertise - and we need specific resumes to reflect their skills based on the jobs of interest.
Beyond the document itself, our work together addresses the self-doubt, impostor syndrome, and confidence challenges that often surface during a job search. Many clients initially downplay their achievements or struggle to claim their expertise – issues that would remain hidden in a simple résumé review. Through our coaching relationship, you'll develop the authentic confidence to not only list your accomplishments on paper but to discuss them convincingly in interviews, networking conversations, and salary negotiations.
This psychological foundation is essential for your long-term career success, which is I integrate résumé development into my coaching packages rather than offering it as a standalone service. This approach ensures you receive comprehensive support in not just documenting your experience, but in recognizing and articulating your true professional value.
Additionally, we use the information from your resume to help us refresh or build your LinkedIn profile (and presence!), inform your job search strategy, and help us build your interview preparation and “keeper stories.” In the end, this approach saves my clients money due to the built-in discounts of my coaching packages.
Q: What if I don't know what to do next with my career?
A: That's exactly what coaching is for - and you're not alone in feeling this way. Many of my clients come to me at turning points in their careers, whether they're feeling stuck in their current role, considering a complete change of direction, or sensing they're capable of more but unsure how to move forward.
Our work together brings clarity to this uncertainty through structured exploration of your strengths, values, and aspirations. Instead of jumping straight to job titles or roles, we begin by understanding what energizes you professionally, where you naturally excel, and what kind of impact you want to make. Often, clients discover that what they thought was career uncertainty actually contains valuable clues about their next professional chapter.
Through our coaching conversations, patterns emerge that help illuminate potential directions - whether that's advancing to senior leadership, pivoting to a new field, or perhaps starting your own venture. The goal isn't to find the "perfect" next step, but to develop a clear understanding of what meaningful professional growth looks like for you and then create strategic action plans to move in that direction.
Q: Can I use my coaching package for different types of support?
A: Yes! Your coaching package gives you access to my complete menu of services, and you can use your hours in whatever way best serves your growth. There's no need to stick to just one focus area - we can seamlessly move between different types of support based on what you need in the moment.
For example, while working on your LinkedIn strategy, you might realize you'd like to explore boundary-setting techniques for managing professional relationships. Or during interview preparation, you might want to spend time working with your inner critic. This flexibility is intentional because I understand that career development rarely follows a linear path.
Many clients find that different aspects of their professional growth are naturally interconnected. You might discover that confidence-building work enhances your salary negotiations, or that leadership development naturally leads to conversations about executive presence and authentic communication. Your coaching hours are yours to use across any combination of services that support your goals.
Think of your coaching package as a flexible container for your professional development - you can draw from all available services without any additional fees or restrictions. Whether you need support with career strategy, personal branding, leadership development, boundary setting, or managing your inner critic, all of these tools are available to you within your package hours.
Practical Matters
Q: How do we schedule our sessions?
A: All coaching sessions are scheduled through Calendly based on your needs and my availability. You can book up to three sessions per week. The only exception is for urgent situations, such as an unexpected Monday interview. In these cases, you may email me to request a special Saturday session between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM if my schedule permits.
Q: What is your rescheduling and attendance policy?
A: I understand that meetings can run long, and unexpected things pop up, so I offer flexible rescheduling options. You can reschedule through Calendly up to 5 minutes before your session time by using the link in your calendar invite – simply scroll down and select a new time slot. You receive three complimentary reschedules per package.
If you anticipate being late, please email me to let me know. When you provide advance notice, we'll proceed with your session using the remaining time in your scheduled slot. For example, if you notify me you'll be 15 minutes late to a 45-minute session, we'll have a productive 30-minute session together.
However, if 10 minutes pass without any notification, I will mark the session as a no-show, which counts against your package time. This allows me to offer the time slot to clients on my daily waiting list, ensuring everyone's time is respected and utilized effectively.
Q: How can I reach you?
A: To maintain focused attention during sessions, I keep all text messages and social media notifications turned off. While I maintain an active presence and substantial following across multiple social media platforms, the volume of messages makes it impossible to monitor these inboxes effectively for client communication. Because your success is my priority, email is the only form of communication I monitor throughout the day, and I am committed to responding to you within 24 business hours during the work week (Monday through Friday).
Q: What are your payment and package terms?
A:
Packages require full payment upfront to secure your coaching spot in my calendar for the next 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months
Payment options include credit/debit cards, PayPal, and Venmo
PayPal Credit offers extended financing options (up to 24 months at 0% interest for qualified buyers)
All packages have a specified expiration date (detailed on your invoice). Coaching hours must be utilized by the expiration date.
Sales are final to honor my commitment of reserved time and locked-in pricing
Remember, most clients fully utilize their coaching hours, and many choose to extend their packages as they progress in their career and focus on new goals. If you're unsure how to maximize your remaining time, we'll work together to align sessions with your objectives.
